To Camp

My "hotel"
After yesterday, I couldn't really sleep and I woke up at 5am. Apperantly in Vancouver, the sun rises very early so I thought it was already 7am or so. For breakfast, I ate 出前一丁 again.

When it was time for me to go to camp there was a lot of traffic, so we were lucky to have left early because almost everyone is there already. As I walk into the lobby, one of the coaches gave me two training jerseys complete with two pairs of shorts and two pairs of socks. Then I got my key card and the luggage outside my room door and was ready to unlocked my door and see what was in there, but the key card wasn't working.

Me and Auntie Winsome tried over and over again but the door still wouldn't open, so we had the grab another one.

And guess what, it still didn't work, so we had to grab a hard key which, actually worked.Inside, I found out that I had a "roomate" connected by the shared bathroom in the middle of both rooms, with a small bed next to a desk and a view of the park outside.

After Auntie Winsome and Uncle Karl said their goobyes to me, I went outside where the coaches were introducing themselves and giving expectations to the players.

After they gave their speeches, the head of the coaches, Brett, assigned us to our teams and I was put into a group with Coach Brenold, who is relatively new to coaching young kids like us. Coach Brenold then told us to go back to our rooms and change into our training gear to start our first training session.

The walk to the training ground was about 10 minutes, but was a little bit tough since I had to wear my backpack which was loaded with extra jackets and soccer gear. Once we got onto the field, we started to work on some passing and possession drills, which everyone was great at. Then we had a small scrimmage toward the end and I scored two goals.

Before long, practice was over and we headed back to the main building, dropped off our backpacks and went to lunch, which was being served in a second building nearby.

The cafeteria looked nice and the food was decent with a variety of foodstyles, similar to the ones being served on airplanes. I ate some spaghetti with a few chicken on it which tasted okay but at least I had a full belly.

After lunch, my training group met for a game against other groups in our age group. Both games went well with us winning 2-0 and drawing 1-1 and we placed second overall in the camp in points. After the matches, which took 3 hours to complete, the whole camp headed back to the dining hall where we had a nice dinner with pork and rice.

Then, Coach Brett told us all to meet in the meeting room and we played a game of dream team competetion, similar to PL Fantasy and my group place second again. After a whole unessescary ceremony to celebrate the winners, Coach Brett explained the plan for tomorrow and not long after, it was bedtime.
